Removing our Masks
As we journey through the month of Adar, great grace is extended to us to become who God has created us to be and to walk in the fullness of our destiny. This will require us to face our fear and take the masks off that we hide behind. Many times fear, comparison, insecurity, shame, and pride prevent us from being vulnerable with other people. The enemy of our soul wants us to be something that we are not. He wants us to be in hiding, pretending we have it all together, trying to be like someone else, measuring up to a religious standard, which leaves us powerless and living as orphans.
I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
John 14:18
In the month of Adar, at the right time, Queen Esther revealed her true identity to the king. She risked it all by doing this, but in the end it saved not only her generation but generations yet to come.
As we, the Ekklesia, become real and authentic with one another and to the lost, we open the door for others to become real with us. The world is looking for the church to be real. To rip off our masks which cause us to judge, criticize and condemn those who have not had an encounter yet and even those who have. We all start out as sinners needing a Saviour.
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace to me was not without effect.
1 Corinthians 15:10
Esther had the opportunity to use her status as Queen to be self-serving. After all, she had all the privileges a person could want. She didn’t need to tell the King who she really was, but then it would not have accomplished the purposes of God. We have the same opportunity today. We can either use our salvation as a mask of self-righteousness or a weapon to set others free. To be a weapon will cost you your pride and reputation.
What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, but loses his soul.
Matthew 16:26
Now when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his ancestors.
Acts 13:36
So, we declare over the Ekklesia that we will fulfill the purposes of God for our lives in our generation, not using our position in Christ as self-serving but to accomplish all that God has for us. We declare over us,
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Revelation 12:11
To Him who loves us and has set us free from our sins by His blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen
Revelation 1:6
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light.
1 Peter 2:9
