Building on the Righteous Foundation
We are in the month of Shevat and the alphabet letter associated with this month symbolizes the “Righteous One”. This month righteousness becomes our foundation. It’s no coincidence that it is also the month to develop the plan to sustain generations.
Unbeknownst to most Canadians, many godly men and women have gone before us, living out their Christian faith where God had planted them. God used Vikings, explorers, missionaries, nuns, journalists, businessmen, inventors and politicians to build with the revelation they had on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ. This influenced education, healthcare, the judicial system, media, arts and entertainment, business, and government. We honour them for their faithfulness and the laying down of their lives for the sake of advancing the Kingdom in their sphere of influence.
Like you and I, many of these “heroes of faith” had areas in their lives that were spotted.
"Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And He chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful.”
1 Cor. 1:27
This did not stop them from building, nor did it disqualify them from God’s call on their lives. Even with the blemishes, they left Christ’s DNA in our nation to impact generations yet unborn. They picked up their cross and pressed on. Many times picking up our cross means that we are embracing our humanity, our limitations, our incompleteness. Sometimes it’s hard to come to the realization that we can continually build even though we haven’t walked out the perfection we’ve been given.
"Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Heb. 12:2
Fast forward to 2020 and we find a different frontier with perils none the less.
“When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?" NIV
Yet the Eternal One is never shaken - He is still found in His temple of holiness, reigning as Lord and King over all. He is closely watching everything that happens. And with a glance, His eyes examine every heart. For His heavenly rule will prevail over all.” TPT
Psalm 11:3-4
We join our faith with those that built on His foundation in this nation. We receive the baton from them. God forgive us for our judgements, disrespect and attitudes toward other generations and other denominations of faith. Forgive us for placing ourselves in the position of judge. We thank You that You are the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We declare unity over all generations and over the Ekklesia so that You can command the blessing and break the curse. We call forth the godly inheritance that is ours in Christ Jesus.
Forgive us Father for rejecting You. May we be the Josiah generation that returns to your covenant and decrees with humble repentance, following obediently Your instructions, with all our heart, mind and soul and removing all the things in our lives that distract and destroy. May we be the generation that is burdened for the injustice of sacrificing children and other life. May You give us the strategies to overturn the unrighteousness in our foundation. Open doors that no man can open and close doors that no man can shut, in each of our spheres of influence. Give us hearts that break for the things that break Yours and the grace and favour to fulfill each of our destinies with victory for the Kingdom’s sake.
So, we declare over ALL Canadians:
“And they shall rebuild the old ruins, they shall raise up the former desolations and they shall repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations…you shall be named priests of the Lord, they shall call you the servants of our God…Instead of your shame, you shall have double honour, and instead of confusion, they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore, in the land they shall possess double; everlasting joy shall be theirs.”Isaiah 61:4-7
"For as the earth brings forth its bud, as the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.”
Isaiah 61:11
