This past week in corporate prayer, the Holy Spirit was inviting us to be set free of disillusionment. Disillusionment is a feeling of disappointment resulting from the discovery that something is not as good as one believed it to be. Sometimes when the battle is long and hard, we can become disillusioned. That’s exactly what the enemy does to take our eyes off our creator, deliverer and the lover of our soul.
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. - Daniel 7:25
Wearing out the saints is a strategy of the enemy to change the times (eras, seasons) and laws (rules, decrees). What better time to do that then now, when people are looking for answers? If we are disillusioned it will hinder us from showing them the Way and living our purpose. I am so thankful that God’s love letter to us - the bible - gives us the game plan! That’s why the enemy of our soul doesn’t want us to read it, believe it or apply it! So, let’s stay in the game and play it well for the souls of men hang in the balance.
Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you. - 1 Samuel 12:24
As we pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off, let’s ask Holy Spirit to help us return to our first love. We may not have even walked away but we can become distracted, preoccupied, focused on other things, feeding at a different table, we can be listening to other voices and find ourselves in a mental or emotional place where God was not.
If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored. - Job 22:23
Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord of hosts, “Return to Me”, declares the Lord of hosts, “that I may return to you” says the Lord of Hosts. - Zechariah 1:3
In the above scripture God states ,“Lord of hosts” three times. That’s so we don’t miss it because He means it! God will back us up with His angel armies when we return to Him. So, let’s lay down our will to be in control so that God can do His part which is save a nation.
Who has heard of such as this? Who has seen such things? Can a country be born in a day or a nation be delivered in an instant? Yet as soon as Zion was in labor, she gave birth to her children. - Isaiah 66:8
So we declare:
From the four corners of the earth, the peoples of the world will remember and return to the Lord. Every nation will come and worship Him. For the Lord is King of all, who takes charge of all the nations. There they are! They’re worshipping! The wealthy of this world will feast in fellowship with Him right alongside the humble of heart, bowing down to the dust, forsaking their own souls. They will all come and worship this worthy King! - Psalm 22:27-29
