Forgetting the hardships

Forgetting the hardships

This past week we learned that the month of Cheshvan represents the tribe of Manasseh, Joseph’s oldest son.

And Joseph called the first born Manasseh (causing to forget).  For God said, he has made me forget all my toil and hardship and all my father’s house.

- Genesis 41:51

I believe God is wanting to do a deep work in the body of Christ, the Ekklesia, to bring healing to all our broken places and to “forget all the toil and hardship".  We know this is impossible with human effort. The Hebrew alphabet letter associated with this month is the letter NUN which symbolizes the Messiah. Only the Lord Himself can restore us.  So, let’s position ourselves to allow the Lord to “perform surgery” on root issues deep in our souls. God is no respecter of persons.  What He did for Joseph, he will do for us.

Lord, we swing wide the gates of our hearts and ask You to have Your way.  Where we are unwilling to change, we ask that You make us willing.  Where we are fearful of change or letting go, forgive us.  We trust that we are safe under the Shadow of the Almighty.

As we are transformed from glory to glory, we will be “living epistles, known and read by all men.  Clearly, you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.” 2 Cor 3:2-3   We, like the disciples in the early church, will change our culture by “letting the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill our lives.” Col 3:16 . As He fills our lives, we are conformed to the image of Christ and He is glorified.

We stand in the gap for all Canadians and ask for a move of Your Spirit, to bring hope, healing and restoration to all people in our land and that what you did for Joseph, you would do for them.  For it is “the goodness of God that leads men to repentance.” Romans 2:4   As healing and restoration happens, we ask that You would ignite their hearts with Your holy fire, consuming everything that stands in the way of them receiving Your love for them.  Thank you God, for this season of restoration, that you love us so much, and that You already planned our victory!

We say, “Be it unto us, according to Your Word.” Luke 1:38
